I think we have the power to change the world. One good deed at a time.
This is my weekend deed:
After a rough Friday night we decided to take it easy on Saturday so we hit up a local dive bar in Santa Monica. After people watching and drinking the only thing calling my name was the ladies room. After I entered the small 2x4 room and waited, and waited then I saw a girl; Cat, crying. Naturally I started a conversation, (us girls need to stick together) only to find out that Cat took the train from San Diego to meet her "friends," I say that in quotes because none of her friends met up with her, therefore leaving her all alone in LA with no car, no friends, no place to stay.
Without hesitation I offer her a place at our table and a place to stay, luckily I was staying in beautiful Brentwood for the night. Then give her my number for an in-case-of-an-emergency contact. My phone rang around 12:30, and Cat came over.
Once she was actually on her way over that's what it clicked in my head, she could be a psycho killer, she cold be a thief, she could steel Harvey (the best dog ever). Thank god I woke up the next morning, everything was in place and the puppy was wagging his tail for his morning walk.
As the 8 o'clock (really 7 o'clock sun) shone threw the windows I knew it was going to be a good day. I put Cat on a bus and she headed back to SD.
Recap:
1. Dive Bar
2. Girl Crying in bathroom
3. Give out in case-of-emergency number
4. Offer girl place to hang out/place to stay for night
5. She comes over
6. I get nervous shes a psycho killer
7. I wake up the next morning (thanking god)
8. Send her back to SD
Don't be stupid people, if you are in a strange city, with no friends, no car and no place to go, and no money. Get your life together.
But if there is a girl crying in the bathroom, be nice and talk, you never know when you could be in similar situation.
